Frequently asked questions

Why should I buy a mattress from you?

1) We make our mattresses right here in good old New Zealand, which means you are supporting our economy, so you can feel good about your purchase. 2) We're competitively priced. Pound for pound, we know you won't find a better quality mattress for the price. You can also be sure that the price we charge won't fluctuate over time, so you can be confident that you are getting the best price on the best mattress. 3) We make our own mattresses which means we can sort out any issues for you, so you have complete piece of mind.

What do you mean by "Hybrid" mattress?

By Hybrid, we mean a mix of two types. Some mattresses are basically a spring unit with a cover, which offers great support but not much comfort. Others are solid memory foam with no springs which offers great comfort but the support degrades over time - sometimes within the first 6 months! Our mattresses are a combination of high quality pocket springs and durable high density foam, which offers the best of both worlds - great support that lasts while not compromising on comfort.

In what way are your mattresses "Orthopedic"?

We are in constant consultation with chiropractors, health professionals and other industry experts. We also use a pressure mapping system to test our mattresses with different body types and positions to ensure they will alleviate pressure and keep your spine properly alligned. In a nutshell, we have designed our beds to be slept on - not rolled up and put in a box.

Are your mattresses really made in New Zealand?

Yes, we have a factory in Tawa, Wellington where we manufacture our mattresses. And by manufacture we mean: Assemble the spring units, cut and glue the NZ made foam and comfort layers, cut and overlock the fabric tops, bottoms and sides of the mattresses, and sew them all together using durable fabric tape edge. We have been making mattresses for over 27 years and most of our factory staff have been with us for well over 10 years. We also have a woodshop where we can make bed bases, from scratch with NZ Pine. Some companies advertise "Designed in NZ", or "Assembled in NZ" which means most or all of the process is done offshore. Buying from us means you are helping us to keep our factory staff of 12 kiwis employed. So - Thank you!

What happens if I'm not satisfied with my mattress?

We offer a comfort guarantee to our customers. If you are really not satisfied with the performance of your mattress after trying it for a minimum of 14 nights and a maximum of 30 nights, we can either swap it for a different mattress.

Do your mattresses arrive in a box?

No. They arrive full size, which costs us a lot more in the way of freight, but we simply don't believe a durable, strong, high quality mattress can be squished into a box.

Where do you deliver to?

At the moment we will be delivering for free to the following areas: Wellington Region Kapiti Coast Masterton/Wairarapa Palmerston North/Manawatu Napier/Hastings/Hawkes Bay Wanganui New Plymouth If you are unsure, please email us your address and we will confirm for you whether we can deliver to you. Please note: Some rural areas may incur an additional fee.

How long will it take for my mattress to arrive?

Because we make your mattress to order, rather than allowing it to sit around in a warehouse gathering dust, it will take up to 5 working days for your mattress to be shipped. If you need it sooner than that we will do our best to accommodate your needs, just let us know when you order.

Can you make custom sizes?

Yes, because we make your mattress to order, we can customize the length or width or even the shape depending on your requirements. Just email us and we'll let you know whats possible.

Where is your specials/discounts page?

We don't have one. Our prices listed are our best prices, we don't use fake discounts or inflated prices to mislead our customers, which means that you know exactly what price you are going to pay and that you won't find out a couple of weeks later that you paid too much. When you compare our prices to other retailers, you will see that you could easily pay 3-4 times as much for a smilar or even lower quality mattress.

Why are your mattresses so cheap?

Some people feel that they need pay thousands of dollars to buy a good quality mattress. The sad thing is, even if you spend thousands, you aren't guaranteed a good nights sleep. Here's the way we make our quality mattresses affordable for kiwis: 1) We make our own mattresses and make them to order, which means we don't have to pay to ship them in from overseas, pay duties and store them in huge warehouses. 2) We sell directly to the public - in essence you would be paying what a bed store would pay for our mattresses before they put on their markup. 3) We sell online. We don't have to pay for sales staff, utilities and rent for brick & mortar shops. 4) Our mattresses are designed for sleep not for looks. We have designed our mattresses without all of the cosmetic additions (stripes, contrast stitching, fake handles, metal name plates) that some manufacturers put on their mattresses to make them look better - we have put all of the money into the quality components that actually help you to get a good nights sleep. After all, do you really care what your mattress looks like when you're going to cover it in a sheet anyway?
